That reminds me...

*Video screen starts up. We hear a sort of Indian melody from the early days of Sesame Street.
*Note: If I knew how to embed songfiles, the one with the Indian Counting Guru would go here.

Ed with his shades, clad in a black smoking jacket appears seated in an armchair. The hooka he has starts blowing soda bubbles that contain a different number from 1 to 40. Each one pops only to be replaced by the next. After 40, a larger blank bubble comes forth, creating a scene transition into the Count's castle. There, the tune is carried up by Uncle Deadly at the master pipe organ.

The Count takes center stage at the upstairs balcony/hallway proclaiming him as 1 as Batty, his bat perches down on his shoulder.
The Two-Headed Monster turn their heads, allowing the camera further entrance as they call out a 2.
Velorie walks down the hallway, kissing her candles into lighted life, softly sighing a 3.
The angle shifts back downstairs as The Hound of the Baskervilles barks four times from his doggie bed.
Sanguina turns her head up, momentarily frightened, more bats fluttering above her forming a protective 5.
Uncle Deadly turns full around, as if he had been tapped on the shoulder to reveal himself, blasting a 6 out of the organ's piped mouths.
The ghostly form of the 6 condensates into a cloud, a storm cloud which takes a Fragglish form resembling Mokey and shoots off a 7-bolt.
After getting struck by the lightning, the stairs closet door opens up, yielding Attracophney a spider girl with the 8 in her webs.
Roxy Meow arouses herself, noting the 9 scrawled on her walled ledge.
The hinged top pops open off of the giant jack o'lantern, a 10 flying out from it as October emerges.
An 11 slowly materializes near the barside counter where The Invisible Man is now also present.
Ringing chimes can be heard thanks to the Doomsday Clock tolling out the hour, the hands on his clockface pointing straight at 12.
The Phantom Bat ushers you into the darkened movie theater after stamping a 13 on the ticket.
Black Hartley opens her valentine's heart box to find a small chocolate heart 14.
Fughetta Faffner, another musician floats in midair, as a 15 becomes entuned from her audible aria.
Shriekcy merely looks up from her station behind the living room's main desk, proud to show off the 16 on her pageant crown.
The Leprechaun jumps out from a bush of clovers, a particular large four-leafed one imprinted with a 17.
Janus grabs the key to Room 18, the number embossed on the key itself.
Alice in Underland sips at her cup of bat's milk tea, nibbling the 19 cookie as well.
Countess Dahling stands next to the Count, calling out a 20 to continue the roll call.
Numberella has a pair of 21's on her dress's poofy shoulder pads, which shimmer in the moonlight.
The Amphisbaena play some notes on their saxophone while wriggling so that both heads coil around into the shape of a 22.
Jack the Ripper makes a small trace of a 23 in the little pool of red sauce that spilled onto the kitchen counter.
The Raven lands upon a skulled statue bust bearing a 24 carved into its forehead.
A quarter with the 25 marking falls onto the streets outside, just before getting snatched up by the Goblin stepping out from her underground alley.
The Wizard reads a couple of spells, creating a bang and a flash and mostly a smoke cloud in the form of a 26.
The smoke cloud then dissipates into bare whispers of a 27 as it floats out through the Gargoyle, causing her to giggle.
The Man in the Moon rotates around so we can see the 28 dug into one of its craters.
Wander McMooch reads a deed near the swampy steps, the document bearing a reddened 29.
The Magician's Rabbit appears at the game room, snapping up a 10-card, turning it into three quickly, thus showing the 30 she's now won.
Belfryra directs viewers at the 31 projected onto the movie screen from her comfortable crimson couch.
Sibella flies in, changes from bat to babe, and turns around to model the 32 on the back of her bat-robe.
The Devil, seated in an armchair near the furnace brands his pitchfork twice into the fire, creating a 33 out of the flames.
Abyss punches the streetcorner sidewalk, shattering the lamppost's bulb which encased his 34.
Auntie Eleanor breathes back a bit of her foggish fumes, expelling only enough for a 35.
Oogie Boogie lands the spinning roulette wheel on the marked 36 before letting the skull marble keep rolling along.
The Banshee flashes an electrified 37 thanks to the chords on her stormy guitar.
A big 38 falls off of the trees out in the forest, causing the Headless Horseman's head to pop off, kicked back into the air for him to catch and reattach by his faithful black steed.
Cauldronette teases you to sup and get the 39-apple bobbing along within the waters of her cauldron body.
The final shot shows Bloody Mary in her ruby tuxedo outfit blowing a 40 kiss at the camera.

The screen then receeds outwardly as it comes back to Ed resting serenly in the armchair as if what just happened was all a dream... Or was it?

Hey guys... Just posted the new leaderboard totals with house team points and everything. Eventswill be open to participate in whenever/as soon as you're admitted as a resident in one of the city's townhouses, but please try to keep up with current gameplay.

Turbo: I'm glad it didn't happen ta me. You evah see Doozah larvae?

Rizzo (shudders): So, where's Kell?

Turbo: She screamed rather incoherently about lil' gremlin demons just not leavin' her alone an' decided to hide undah her bed.

Rizzo: Well, where's Oscar?

Turbo: Same. He hates lil' kids.

Rizzo: Kell's got work tomorrow.

Turbo: Yup. Gonna be a looooong night.

Rizzo (sees Kelly walk in): 'Ey! Look what da cat dragged in? How was da first day?

Me (shrugs, exhausted from filling out mounds of paperwork): Fine. Technically, today was just orientation. "Real" work starts tomorrow. *leaves sticky notes everywhere* Kelly is employed, so she won't be hanging out in the common room as often, nor will her fics be updated with the same regularity. She hopes everyone understands.
