I am in the middle of designing a muppet and I am really stuck on how to make it!
I am making a female baboon and I am struggling with head. Can anyone suggest something that may work? Its almost dog like in the fact it has a muzzle. I have already tried carving it and wasn't happy with the end product. Is it possible to make out of foam sheets? Thanks for your help!!

What you want to make is basically a ball (the snout) on a ball (the head). There are a couple of ways to do that, but the easiest to explain is probably "The Wedge Method".

The idea is that if you cut eight wedges with a size ratio of 4:1 (four times longer than they are wide) and glue them together they will make a sphere. If you experiment by varying the size, shape and number of wedges, you can create almost any round shape imaginable.

You can find a free wedge template to download here. There are also links to some other patterns that might help.
