Just adding some more info. The character known as Wilkings came from the first Muppet production, Sam & Friends. This show was made in the latter half of the 1950's and aired on Washington DC local TV. It featured Jim's earliest Muppet/puppet creations, including an early version of Kermit.
Wilkings was often paired with Wonkins, as a straight man comedy duo. Wilkins would often get the drop on Wonkins in some slapstick manner. Refer to the Wilkins 57 Coffee commercial posted above.
