Ok. So, the title is a lie. Venda face was not created by the Cyrius Cybernetics Coorperation, but it sounds and acts as if it was. (For those who don't know, that is the Robot manufactoring company from the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy."

I am wondering if it ws created as a reference to that? Was HHGTTG showing on TV at the same-ish time as Mupppet Show???

I don't know if it was but Vendaface used to really creep me out when I was a kid.

Yeah, his voice is really creepy. "Hello, I am Vendaface..."

Still, he does sound a lot like the drinks'o'matic from the Hitchiker's Guide. Maybe that is just the only way people thought of Robot's voices back then???

In one word - No. The TV version of Hitchhikers didn't air until c.1981.
