Ah, it's just a little dark humour. Take it in stride. Jim Henson did a very similar joke in The Muppet Family Christmas. He had the sweedish chef want to cook Big Bird but when Big bird was sweet and nice to him he couldn't do it so he decided to cook a vegitarian Christmas dinner instead but the vegitables could talk too. This was the 1986 Holiday special. Well, technically Jim had two holiday specials that year. He also had The Christmas Toy whose plot was suspiciously 'reimagined' for Toy Story.
