I had my mom over for dinner, and she brought my step-dad Sam, and her best pal Kay (who was going to have to spend mother's day alone, so I told them to bring her with 'em). I went all out on dinner, too! Of course, we're in the south, so Sweet Tea is a MUST!
Started with appetizers (chips/dip, shrimp and cocktail sauce) and Salad.
Entree: Roast Beef (with carrots, onions, and potatoes in the gravy, made from water, mushroom soup, and seasonings. Also included broccoli and cheese and corn on the cob. Bread my best friend Angie had made.
Dessert: Coconut Cream Pudding, with REAL coconut (as opposed to what? I dunno.) and coolwhip topping.
It was SOOOO GOOD! Anyways, there's leftovers, so I'll have dinner Monday Night!
I didn't have the teeshirt I was having made for mama yet (a picture of me, her and Muley), but I got her a card and an awesome plant (it grows like a vine, and has big beautiful blooms on it), and Muley made cards for everyone:
Bonnie: "To Bon Bon, you're a number one superstar. Love muley."
(He drew a picture of him and her as the birds she draws and it says "gimme hug.")
Kay: "To Miss Kay, happy Mother's day. Love muley."
(He drew a picture of him on grass with a tree and a rainbow around it says, "Gimme hug.")
Sam: "To Mr. Sam, Happy Mother's Day (No need feelin' left out). Love Muley."
(He drew a picture of a red truck, above it says (arrow pointed to truck) Mr. Sam's Truck; below it, an arrow points to a drawing of muley in the truck and it says, "Me bout to reck it.")
It was fun. Sam and Kay watched the video of my performance of "Feed Me" on the real video a few times, and Mama played on my sewing machine to see if she could fix it. We listened to the Star Wars soundtrack in the background, followed by the Ray Soundtrack, and some Frank Sinatra.
It was a wonderful evening.
And I'm a good cook!
