Hi. I'm starting on a simple hand/finger puppet (index finger to hold head and thumb/other fingers as arms/hands) anyway, Im wondering what is the best material to use to make the head. I already used some good material (sort of like plastic foam, i dont know how to exactly describe it), but then Im all out.

All out? Out of what? The foam?
I am new to this forum, but not necessarily new to puppets... When I was a kid, we would make the heads from paper mache, or styrofoam balls, and use a TP tube as a neck. (You slice it down one side, then cut in half, then squeeze together to fit your finger and tape.) hollow out at least 1/4 inch so you can insert the tube into the head. and then just go from there.

You can find all sorts of crafts at any fabric store, to create features on your puppet, and the tutorials offered by many of the pros here are invaluable! Also you can do a google search and find tons of info!

Hope this helps a little.

Paper mache or paper clay works really well for glove puppets.

There is an excellent article on the subject at here.
