Hey all.

I decided to be a Muppeteer for Halloween this year and dress my puppet up as The Penguin from Batman. But at the moment I'm having some diffculties and need some assitance.

How to I keep the top hat on his head without it falling off should I move around too much?

How do I attach the monocle to his face without it falling off or being permanetly there?

Any suggestions or help are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

go to walmart and buy some "curly pins" these are pins with a flat plastic top about 1/4 inch wide and the pin part is twisted. They are used in upholstry to keep fabric in place. these should keep the hat in place. We use them all the time and have never had a problem with any costumes coming off during a performance.

The monocle is a little trickier. Try gluing a rim of fabric around the back of the rim of the monocle, then carefully stitch the fabric to your puppet in a couple of places. This is a temporary yet secure method.

Post pictures of the finished costume. Would love to see what you come up with.
