I have already decied I'm not being a werewolf. That was just awful. The kids were terrified and every time I saw someone I had to take that stupid mask off.
Speaking of wolves, I've decided for Halloween I'm gonna be BIG BAD WOLF DADDY! Like in this episode of "The House of Mouse"...

I found a costume that would be just perfect for the zoot suit part:

I also already have a rubber mask of the Disney wolf:

(I am the one in the center, from last Halloween.)

Now all I need are the appropriate glasses, the footpaws and possibly a toy trumpet of some kind.

That's an awsome idea Muppet dude. I really like it.

Debating whether or not I should even bother with a costume... might be alone this year.

will definately be alone this year.. kids are at their mom's for the school year and hubby's deployed (though due back in november.. yay!) and we really hardly get any trick or treaters at all.. it's very sad, but kind of an out of the way neighborhood without a ton of kids (though there are plenty near by, so we should get more..) but everyone goes to the schools or churches for trunk or treating or spook alleys or whatever they call them these days.. so not a lot in the neighborhoods... (cept some teenagers.. got a lot of those last year.. ) so not sure i'm even going to bother doing anything, might even turn out the lights and pretend not to be home.. very sad.. (then too, likely to be a few feet of snow by then..)

if we got more actual kids (and fewer gothy teens) we'd do more.. i used to spend days decorating my parent's front porch for halloween and would love to do more here, but with the odds always in favor of snow (though this year we haven't got any so far..) it's hard to plan a big yard/porch display.. and if no one is gonna come to see it.. why bother putting the money into it... it's very sad.. there are plenty of kids in the neighborhood, they just all go outside the neighborhood...

Yeah, what's up with that? Whatever happened to you're too old for Halloween once you reach thirteen? I'm reminded of an SNL skit where Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph were New York-based talk show hosts, and Amy mentioned that this past Halloween, she had a grown man come to her door in jeans and a white hoody saying he was a ghost; Maya added if you're old enough to buy beer, you should be old enough to buy your own candy! XD

I know I'm too old for Halloween now, but I think this year, I'll just sit around the house dressed up as "Big Daddy O'Reilly".

I grew up on a farm on a highway, so we never really got trick-or-treaters, but this year, I'm going to my girlfriend's place in Sleepy Hollow, NY (where 'The Legend' is set). Of course, given that, they've always really done up Halloween. They dress up, carve a bunch of pumpkins, and set up things around their house for kids to explore. It should be fun!
