To be honest I don't recall that happening, but I'll definitely check around for further research.

Thing is though, that plotline of the fantasy character showing up unnoticed at the end has been used many times in other places. Perhaps you were thinking of a different show's ending. Or a different Peanuts specials, the great pumpkin was mentioned a few other times.
