I first came to appreciate Art Clokey's work through "Davey and Goliath," which is another favorite kids' show of mine. For some reason, my local stations never ran "Gumby" until much later. But when I saw the old "Gumby" films, I felt they had much the same feel and fun as the D&G films. He was a great talent and will be missed.

There is a fun D&G documentary called "Oh Davey" which features an interview with Art & talks a bit about Gumby as well.

This is truly another horrible loss. Art Clokey was overflowing with creativity, had an immense amount of talent, and made millions of people smile with his work. He will be sadly missed.

Oh my goodness!

This is the first time I've heard about this (I've been away on holidays, haven't been reading the newspaper, haven't watched a lot of telly...) and... I'm heartbroken! :frown: I loved his stuff, Gumby in particular, because I grew up with it and I still remain a fan.
RIP, Art. :frown: And thank you.
