Back in Season 2, the new-blue Grover we all know today performed against this screaming-orange background.

He sees a sign that says DANGER, but there was no danger to be found. He walks off-camera to the left and the right, but no sign of danger.

He looks up, down, still no danger.

Then he asks "Is there danger over here?" and looks RIGHT into the lens of the camera. When you're two years old and see this HUGE Grover face taking up the whole screen, it's quite scary

Then Grover moves to the back of the screen, but still no danger.

"Aww, silly sign!" Then Grover trips and falls over the sign, and you hear a loud crash.

Anybody else old enough to remember this one?

i wasn't around at the time and don't ever recall it being used in later shows. considering what you said was probably why it wasn't reused for very long.
