Totally! I'm trying to find a baby turtle, but Mississippi related laws require that pet shops not sell turtles under a certain size. I guess I understand the need for the law....without it people would be scouring the beaches trying to sell of anything they could find....but I just want ONE baby turtle and I can't have one unless I'm using it for "educational purposes" (so the law states). It would live here at school with me....is that educational enough??
As far as getting a ducky (if you seriously had the room to house it), there are all sorts of little flea markets/ farm trade gatherings in IL and IA. I got a couple of babies in West Burlington for real cheap. The patrons can be pretty redneck :eek: , but its an interesting place to browse around.
