I am thinking of going to the zoo with my son for his first birthday. I am big into parties, but we moved a year ago and don't really know anyone to invite so a big too do it out. My questions is..do you think it would be ok to take a picnic lunch and a cake to the zoo and find a quiet area and have lunch and put my son on a blanket in the grass and let him eat his own personal cake and give cupcakes to my other two kids? Also, any other ideas to make this day special? I have until Oct. 4th.

Sounds awesome! For my Sons' first, we had a ton of friends and family over, a Hollywood Star theme, lots of food and cake... And my Boy was pretty much overwhelmed, and he cried when we sang "Happy Birthday To You". :stick_out_tongue:

Hindsight, and all that. I totally would've rather done what you are planning! :wisdom:
