Thanks! My second Kermit from several years back was the first for which I used the MR Kermit as a basis. At the time, I scaled the design up too large and ended up with a Kermit that was much too big. With each Kermit after that I've pretty much consistently made everything smaller. I also shortened his arms, legs, and neck considerably from the MR Kermit, and the body is completely different design. There are remnants of that pattern still there in my puppet, but it's almost a completely new design now. To get a feel for the sizing I mostly looked at pictures of Steve Whitmire and Jim Henson with Kermit on so I could see about how large he was in relation to their arms. He's actually pretty tiny.

The mouthplate was made by drawing up a pattern based on some pictures of Kermit and then scaling it so that the edge of one side of the mouthplate was approximately the same as the length of his mouth on the pattern. As always, a fair amount of trial and error to make sure that looked right when assembled.

I composed a thank you post earlier today, but I see it did not go up.

And a comparison shot showing the evolution of my Kermits:

My perfectionist tendencies have resulted in making five Kermits in as many years! But I think it was worth the trouble. He's not that different from Kermit 4 beyond the legs, but I refined the head some more and I think it made a big difference! Construction-wise, he's not nearly as polished as the real deal, of course. But as far as the likeness goes, I'm extraordinarily pleased with how he turned out!
