Matt, I agree with all that you've said. While reading the comic book, I actually laughed at one scene and realized they have the characters spot on for the first part. I like the art and the story so far, and I'm interested to see where they take everything. I also like the fact that Sebastian Clavett over at 88mphstudios.com said that they were going to deal a lot with the characters' personalities and reality, like equipment breaking down at the last minute, etc.

I'd love to see Aykroyd write a comic book for this line! Actually, I've never understood why they didn't just animate GB3 with the actors' voices. Then, you wouldn't be limited to what you could do with ghosts or fx. At least, then we'd get the story.

Anybody find the iBooks Ghosbtusters novels anywhere yet?

hey Kevin, being the huge Aykroyd/BB/GB fan you are I was wondering what your take on the whole comic book vs. cannon timeline was. It kindo f bugged me at first that they did this kind of "6 months after the first movie but it's 2004" thing (the Cameorn Diaz reference) but then I kindo f accepted it and it's ok. As long as further down the line they ackenowledge the timeline in some form...GB going out of business, Dana and Venkman breaking up, Dana's marriage, baby and divorce, the coming of Viggo the Carpathian. As long as they acknowlegde it somehow later down the line that's cool with me.

I would like to see them deal a bit more with personalitlies and so on. Winston of course needs it the most. I was always very happy with how they addressed him in the cartoon series making him the mechanic of the group.

The only character I didn't like in the comic book was Louis. I think the whol popularity of Louis thing seemed out of character. I'm hoping they go somewhere with it thought so I'm tryign ot reseve judgement for now. other than that, I like what they did with a lot of the characters. I really liked the stuff they were doing with Ray at the end. It's an aspect of the GBs you don't really think of. Venkman doesn't mind the fame and glory and MONEY but Stantz and Spengler really are/were scientists first. So it's nice to see them make that a recurring part of the series somewhere. I'm really interested to see where the rest of this seires goes. I'm not hooked yet but I think I will be by the time they're done.

It always bugged me how he never became much more then just the token minority.

Hey guys,

One of the things that I remember Sebastian Clavett over at www.88mphstudios.com saying was that they wanted to deal more with life and personalities rather than just ghosts all the time. I like that idea, but I also want to see some proton beams flying around after some ecto-entities!!

There is supposed to be one story line completely about/for Winston in the future.

We have to keep in mind that this is supposedly 6 months after Gozer, and I believe that anybody involved in something like that WOULD reap all the benefits. There was 10 years difference (practically) between Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II so there's tons of time to play out the fall of the GBs, the demise of relationships, and the birthing of babies (which Oscar was only born less than a year from the happenings of GBII).

I'm really digging the story, and by the time I got through reading the book, I was pumped and ready for the next book! It's certainly worth the wait for 2 years for this thing to be published, but doggoneit! I'm ready for issue 2 of 4 right NOW!

Impatient little booger, ain't I?

Now, the only thing I have to worry about getting is Series 8 Muppets and NECA's Ghostbusters stuff; oh, and the iBooks novels about Ghostbusters.

That's GREAT--actual, physical contact!! Can you move?!

The variant cover for the comic book that was made just for buyer incentives with ultraviolet ink are going for around $75.00 on ebay. I just don't see myself paying $75 for a comic book.

But I want it.

Bad.

Someone fund it for me...
Pweeze?!

Man.... the Ghostbusters come back is just Sweet! I hope they can either make personal likenesses of the GB characters for series 2. It would be great if they could cheat and make them look like the new comic books, but they really need to make Ernie Hudson, Dan Akroyd, and the rest.....

I agree! I'd love to have action figures that looked like the actors! I would have to say this would be some I'd buy one to play with and one to keep for sure!! I wouldn't mind a run of the action figures that looked like the new comic books, either.

I also found out that after 2 days of being released that the GB Comic book sold out, and that they are reprinting 1 of 4 with a new cover. Wonder what the print run was on the book in first printing?

Anyone remember Hi-C Ecto Cooler. Man that stuff was good.
Sighhhh.... If only Slimer were still popular...that was the best Cartoon based fruit drink of all time. Not those fifth party Bart Simpson drink boxes in 1992.... not the Ninja Turtles.... Slimer owned!

They still have it, but they changed the name and (blasphamy) took out the green color. you cannot go home again...
