I may not have been around for his time as president, but he sounded like a great guy and my thoughts go out to Bush Jr. and his family for the loss of his father/his kids' grandfather.

Among George Sr.'s noteworthy accomplishments: the ousting of Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega, the dismantling of the Berlin Wall and political reunification of the now-former East and West Germany, the first Gulf War which was a response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, and the dissolution of the now-former Soviet Union's S.S.R.'s into individual independent countries.
