Well you know, no one forced him to go on the show. He was Gene Kelly, he could have said no.

He famously danced with Jerry the mouse, so he obviously had a sense of humour. I really wouldn't worry about this at all.

That's what I was thinking, because after the first season and Rudolph Nuryev episode they had to turn down people who wanted to be on the show. Biased biographers are the worst.
