After getting walloped by bad news after bad news after bad news the last 2 days, I finally got some good news.

The Third (and possibly final) Garfield CGI DTV film has been announced and the trailer is officially posted here. If you can't remember, Pet Force was a mid 90's series of Garfield chapter books. I really wanted to see that in cartoon form, and this is the chance (though, I rather would have seen it years earlier, and not a CGI DTV movie, but rather a series of its own).

While it was rumored that it would be the third film, I didn't know when exactly it was going to be made and released (It has almost been a year since Fun Fest... still need to see the other 2).

This all makes way for the Garfield Show, which is a hit in Europe, and CN USA will get it eventually... maybe.

I too want to check out that movie. I remember seeing a preview of it on the second Garfield movie on a DVD.

I know i can't wait for it. My friend had one of the books and loved it ever since. He thought it too would have been cool to have seen them in animated form way when the first book came out.

But when i first saw the CGI trailer and thought this is going to be cool and can't wait till it comes out. I've bought the first two and when i read that there was going to be a new cartoon show i said this'll be cool. Just hope it isn't too bad or i won't watch it.

Oddly enough, the new series will be CGI as well, but animated by a different company (from France) with different character designs, but it seems they're going for the same voice cast. A clip of the pilot is viewable here- http://www.thegarfieldshow-diary.com/?page_id=93

Now... that clip specifically doesn't feature Frank Welker as Garfield at all... but this youtube clip of the UK promo shows a finished product with Frank Welker's voice as Garfield.

Looks good so far, Mark Evanier, the original Garfield and Friends cartoon writer, is said to be working on the show, allong with various French story writers (as it is a French cartoon).

So far it's all over the world except for here and Japan... and speaking of the Japanese, I wouldn't know how big Garfield is over there... Snoopy does Gangbusters and he's always in the public eye over there... In China Garfield is really big. As for the US, it all has to do with our current children's television problems, but we're told it's coming to Cartoon Network later this year.

Frank Welker continues to play Garfield, and Greg Bergger is still playing Odie, as he has been since the first Garfield special. I'm sure Jon is still being performed by Wally Wingert, and Nermal will be played by the same guy who has played him in the films so far (at least, we know he's a boy cat this time).

I'm not 100% sure of anything outside of the preview. Frank Welker plays Garfield's superhero counterpart, that i know.

I really hope there is a discount movie 3 pack. I've been meaning to see all three of these films. I saw part of the first one a year ago, and I really enjoyed it.
