Oh yeah I remember that, lol.

This kind of spells out to me what's changed about Sesame Street. Even harmless humor is being sacrificed in favor of paranoid political correctness.
Well, like Jerry Seinfeld once said, "Aren't we all getting a little too overly sensitive about all this? I mean, if somebody asks me which way's Israel, I don't fly off the handle!"

Is THAT why DETP has never been released? I was under the impression because it was either too "dated", or *shocker* NO ELMO... but then again, Big Bird in China is "dated", with no Elmo, and has recently had VHS and DVD releases (even with Marty Robinson dubbing Telly's lines that were previously performed by Brian Meehl).

Well, Telly, but like Big Bird, when Telly went to get the adults, Snuffy was gone (playing with Fluffy inside Oscar's can), so they convinced Telly that he too imagined that he saw a Snuffleupagus.
I always thought Don't Eat the Pictures was never released on DVD because of some kind of rights thing with the Met. Museum of Art. They do still sell VHS's of it on their site and in the museum's gift shop, though.

Well, my understanding is that it was the humans who never saw Snuffy- not necessarily other Muppet characters. Though that would be an interesting topic of itself- assuming this scene with Oscar is on the level, are there any other Muppet characters on Sesame Street (besides Big Bird obviously:wisdom:) who saw Snuffy before the humans did?
That's a good question. I know we've talked about this a while ago. I think there was an album released in the 70s where Bert and Snuffy interacted with each other and the clip with the Count counting Snuffy's jumps on the trampoline was most likely before he was revealed to the adults. It's something to think about.

IIRC, I think it was released afterwards.

I thought I heard it was before that, but maybe I was wrong. I guess that's the trouble with You Tube. They don't give you the date something first came out. I guess we'll never know for sure.

Haha- I remember watching that clip of the Count counting Snuffy jump on Big Bird's trampoline as a kid in the '80s. I think it may have been after Snuffy's revealing- but I guess I'll have to check Muppet Wiki on that.:wisdom:

Judging by the clip itself, I'm guessing it's from 1986-1987.
