I honestly cannot believe that this never occured to me until very recently...

That none of the monsters of SST ever, if seldomly, called Kermit by his actual name; yes, I know that Elmo DID refer to him as "Kermit the Frog" from the hurricane episodes of 2001, but other than that classic/old school Elmo usually refered to him as "Green Frog", and one occasion "Kermie", meanwhile Grover always refered to him as "Froggy Baby" (even on Jimmy Kimmel). I don't even remember Cookie Monster ever refering to him by his real name either.

But then again, I'm sure that was all a part of the gag of the Kermit/Monster thing on the street, much like in the very early episodes, he would refer to them as "Mr. Fuzzy" or "Fuzzface" because of how fuzzy the monsters of the street are.

Good observation- he is almost always called "frog" by everyone else in the Newsflash sketches. I always liked the "magic mirror's" comment to him: "It drives her up the wall, froggie." It was more in the muppet show days that they began to refer to him (mostly) as Kermit.

Actually... in Grover's Health minute about teeth, he introduces Kermit as "Mr. Kermit the Frog." Just thought I should point that out.

Elmo also refers to Kermit as Kermit the Frog in the Elmo's World: Frogs segment.

I was just watching that sketch on Youtube, and I can't quite tell if he's saying "Kermie" or "Kermit".
