I just spotted this at my local newsagents:

This month's "Ultimate DVD" magazine (Men In Black 2 cover) has the complete John Cleese episode of The Muppet Show on a free VCD!

They make a point of it being an exclusive to them, and not being on the new DVD too.

We're doing pretty well for Muppet stuff in the UK at the moment, aren't we?

It's good but the magazines like £5 - the whole Muppet DVD's with extras, 2 episodes and the compilation can be bought for under £10.

And you _don't_ want VCD anyway. The quality is awful, worse than VHS!

I've transferred some real old shows onto VCD - stuff that would never make it to DVD and i want to preserve. I don't think i'd ever actually buy a VCD though like those crazy Asian kids do.

I was planning to at one point, but it turned out my DVD player can't read CD-Rs, and anyway, I'd much rather transfer the material to DVD. So I did

VCD actually has *half* the vertical resolution of VHS, and is lousy for anything that originated on video, as it only records one field per frame.

It's very likely the free VCD is promoting for "Very Best of... vol.2"..... I guess

I just got the free VCD today and does not have Brian Henson intro.

The quality is quite pretty good for a VCD and also it has in the magazine a has Cover cut out and little reviews for "TMCC" & "MTI"
