After hearing what happened with MFS, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony wanted SW to do a lot to the film that wasn't originally planned.

For the hundredth time....

Apparently someone at Sony wanted the movie to be strictly for little kids, and threw away a lot of what Jerry juhl wrote in the script, including an alternate Ending that would have implied that Gonzo really wasn't an alien after all.
