I don't think Kevin Clash worked on Follow That Bird, though I could be wrong. I think the first Muppet thing he worked on up here in Toronto was the Muppets' 25th Anniversary special. Also on "Follow That Bird" a lot of the Canadian Muppeteers were subbing on various Muppets.

no, Clash worked on it. he's in the credits. I think he might have even voiced a character or somewhere inthere. not elmo thogh. I remember the film was really just before Elmo became a part of the cast.

Hey something I just found out that I never knew before is that the sister Dodo bird was voiced by the actress who played Joanie's friend Jenny Picalo on Happy Days!

Thanks for clarifying that. Didn't Elmo bounce around between a few puppeteers as a sort of "anything monster" until sometime around `86 or `87?

He was played by Brian Muehl then Brian Muehl left the show in 1984 to pursue a writing career, so Richard Hunt took over, Richard did not think the charachter was right for him, basically Elmo wasn't Richard's "Type" lol so he offered him to Kevin Clash in 1985, and Kevin has been performing him ever since.

I loved "Follow That Bird" and I think it runs circles around "Elmo In Grouchland". "Follow That Bird" was made just in time to celebrate the essence of Sesame Street that was gradually slipping away.
