I can usually figure out how stuff was done, and this type or performance is way different than your usual puppet stuff, so CGI and post production could be the answer…
I was sent this clip and instantly loved the puppet. I guess I've lived under a rock as this is the first time I'd heard of Flat Eric built by Henson's shop. His hands and arms are quite maneuverable. Were the arm rods removed in post? I imagine the hand/fingers could be cable pulls.
