Geez...I hardly even rememeber I think GMC was the first one I saw on TV. I actually didn't see all of TMM until I was 11....MCC and MTI I saw at the movie theater, and we kept trying to see MFS in theaters when it came out, but we nerver got to watch it until it came out on video....(There are actually some VERY funny stories surrounding that...)

I saw "The Muppet Movie" first, at the movies. Having been born in 1974, I always think I grew up in the best of times when it came to movies.... I got to see the Muppets, the original three Star Wars movies, and all three Indiana Jones movies on the big screen.

I then saw the "Great Muppet Caper" at the theater a few years later, but it was a big disappointment. I don't really know if it was such a bad film, but I loved the original so much that I was inevitably going to be let down by anything else. I guess my expectations were too high.

I didn't see any of the other Muppet films until much later. I think I saw "Muppets Take Manhattan" on TV, and thought it was okay, but still not quite up to the level of the original. I watched a bit of "Muppet Treasure Island," but I hated it and turned it off after just 45 minutes. "Muppet Christmas Carol" was a bit better. The last one I saw was "Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie," which was okay, but I can't help thinking Henson would have done it better. I still haven't seen "Muppets From Space."

Randall: I hear ya! Wasn't it great growing up in the 80's?

The first time I remember seeing TMM was on video. I feel like I must have seen it once before in the theater, because when they asked me if I wanted to see it again, I was excited, as though I had seen it the first time. Maybe I was just excited to see the Muppets, though. The "they" in question were friends of my parents, and they were the first people I knew to own a VCR. When it was dinnertime, I didn't want to stop watching, but they said I could come back to it. After dinner, they started it right back up in the same spot. I couldn't figure out how on earth they did that!

I saw GMC and TMTM with my sister and my aunt at the theater; I remember those days very distinctly. I wanted to see MCC in the theater, but I didn't have a car at the time, so I saw it on video a year later. I saw MTI in a mostly empty theater on a Tuesday and didn't much care for the movie. So I waited till MFS came out on video to watch it. Of course I didn't have a choice about VMMCM, but after MuppetFest I would have been willing to see a Muppet movie on the big screen again!

:embarrassed: Do we mean like full-length muppet movies? I think so.
:sympathy: My first full-length one was probably either TMTM, or Follow That Bird, but I'm not exactly sure. :stick_out_tongue:
Maybe I should check with my sister on that one.
