Although most people know Sonny Friendly as the smiling purplish muppet of the 80's, the name originally belonged to the muppet called Guy Smiley. In very early Sesame Street skits, the same muppet used for Guy Smiley would also be introduced as Sonny Friendly. I had almost given up talking about this because no one else seemed to remember and Noggin never showed any skits with this original version. However, in 2002, on the Sesame Street Newsgroup, alt.tv.sesame-street, a member named "Mikey" had this to say

"The games were usually hosted by Guy Smiley, a unique tall-headed
muppet. Some of the shows were hosted by a "Sonny Friendly", who IIRC
was the same muppet but had a different, deeper voice."

What was the host's name on "Squeal of Fortune"? Remember that one, with the pigs? Wasn't it like Pat Playjack or something? He's the only other game show host I remember besides Guy Smiley and Sonny Friendly.

The dog in "Pick Your Pet" is a Baskerville lookalike, BTW.

Exactly what did the dog look like? Was it the same Baskerville puppet, or did the give him different eyes?

Hmm ... the puppet here seems to be bigger and a lot furrier than the one used in the Purina commercials and TMS. The glasses look the same, too, come to think of it.

Another question about the dog: Was it ever used in any other production?
