I'm not sure if a thread like this was done before or not, so here it is..,

What is your favorite version(s) of various Sesame Street songs? Here are mine...

Sesame Street Theme: Original version
Sing What I Sing: Sung by Madeline Kahn and Grover
We Are All Earthlings: Original version
Sing: Sung by Olivia and signed by Linda
What's the Name of That Song: The version on the sing-along video (where everyone has a sing-along party of the roof of 123.
One Small Voice: Elmo and I think either N'Sync or The Backstreet Boys
One of These Things: Sung by Kathy Greenwood! Okay that one doesn't really count...never mind.
Monster in the Mirror: The celebrity version.
I'd Like to Visit the Moon: Original sung by Ernie solo.

That's all I can think of right now.

Yeah... The original version of the SS theme... Glad they played it in the background when the show won this year's Emmy.
Sing After Me, with Madeline Kahn and Grover, the best of all.
Sing... If it's done in a classy sort of way like the classic with Olivia or Lena Horne on TMS I like it... Just think it's been overused in the period of Seasons 32-33.
Don't Want To Live On The Moon, original version by Jim Henson's Ernie is #1.
One Of These Things... Well, so long as it's not sung by Greg Prouppes in his raspy mock-Grover voice...

Let me see...taking what I remember both from watching TV and listening to "Muppet Central Radio" into consideration...
"Sesame Street theme:" The original 1969-92 version.
"C is for Cookie:" The disco version!
"People in the Neighborhood:" The original version.
"Somebody Come and Play:" Either the original "kids" version, or the version with Raposo himself singing.
"I Don't Want to Live on the Moon:" The Aaron Neville version
"Bein' Green:" The original version only.

For "People In Your Neighborhood", I prefer the made-for-album version with Bob, the postman AM and the fireman AM. On screen, I prefer the one he did for the season 34 premiere.

For "Bein' Green", I prefer the original album version.

2 Being Green - The original. This on can be see on the 25th Birthday DVD.
3 I Love Trash - The original. This on can be see on the 25th Birthday DVD as
well.
4 Doing the Pigon - The Original, (what else) Can be see on the same dvd, but
it is edited.
5 C is for Cookie -well I think you are getting the idea here.
6 Your My Best Friend - Big Bird and Snuffy sings this song. It was when Jerry
Nelson had done the voice.
7 - The Alpabet Song - this one is where Lena Horn Sings with Big Fat Blue.
This can be see on "Learning the Alphabet"
8 - Fur - The Artsocats Monsters - "Fur. I am covered with fur" Can be seen
on "Monster Hits."
9 - The Song of The Count - The Count sang this song on an episode.
10 - and for the number ten spot
Sing- This one was where every one sang the song but it was not on
dvd or video. This one was sung in Ernie and Bert's Bathroom, and it had
Mr Hooper and David before their untimely deaths. I think it was to promote Ernie
and Bert's Sing Along Album.

Dance Myself to Sleep the original with Ernie driving Bert out of his mind with the bugle and the sheep, not that stupid cartoon with the lion and the Rockettes style sheep, sheeeesh what were they thinking, it's so dull even Bert would hate it.

I like that version too, but to be more specific, I also like the on-screen version better than the on-album version.

I also kinda like the extended one they did to include clips of celebrities dancing like Martina McBride, Whoopi Goldberg, Harvey Fierstein, Venus Williams, Ruben Studdard, and Dr. Phil.
