My favorite skits about planning was when Maria was telling the story of a king who wanted a picnic and told his subjects to bring something. At first they all ended up bringing watermelon and on the next trip they all ended up bringing potato salad. And it showed buckets of potato salad covering the entire kingdom. The king became frustrated and his prime minister suggested the king plan his picnic by telling each subject to bring a different thing. So the king did that and assigned one person to get the hot dogs, the other the rolls, one the pickle relish, one the mustard, one the soda, one the napkins, while the king himself would get the ice cream. And they had their picnic after all.

A second one I liked was a cartoon about a pirate captain and his crew singing a song about planning. Like when going on a sea voyage, take some apples, bananas, thermos, bandaids, and a map. It was a very pretty song.

while i found the story segment silly though educational, it was funny towards the end how he's saying you bring this or that to the people and they returned and are clapping and swaying to the sound of him saying you got the so and so. whatever the food each person brought along. > that cartoon you mentioned was sort of interesting. singing doowop in the pirate age.

Wow, I don't remember watching any "planning skits." Guess that explains why I'm such a terrible planner now. :stick_out_tongue:

Does the 'Ernie makes a grocery list with spaghetti sauce' count as a planning skit?

Well, Ernie did put stuff like pencils, pens, crayons, markers, and a typewriter on his list so he could be planned to have something to write with the next time. And he wrote that list with chocolate pudding making it the most delicious list he wrote. Bert ended up saying. "He's improving. Last time he used spaghetti sauce."

There were quite a few skits about planning. Mainly where Ernie takes planning a little too far and ends up driving Bert crazy.

One where Ernie heard on the radio that it was going to rain and he was on his way to the library. So he took his umbrella, raincoat, bag of food, and a life preserver just in case there was going to be a flood. He even dragged Bert off his comfy chair so he wouldn't be alone in the flood that probably wouldn't happen.

And another time when Ernie took a flashlight, umbrella, and bowling ball into the bathtub in case of a blackout, rain in the bathroom, or someone coming in wanting to borrow a bowling ball.

Ah, I do remember those Bert and Ernie skits now. A lot of them kind of bleed over into one another due to my fuzzy memory on things. I wonder if they would even show the 'grocery list' skit anymore since a typewriter (an outdated writing tool) is mentioned.

They still use that nu nu nu typewriter, don't they?
