It all depends on how you define "minor Muppet" (is the Swedish Chef minor? Is Rizzo? Sam Eagle?) but I like some of the choices I've seen here.
I'm loving that Sweetums and Lew Zealand have had more to do in recent Muppet films and productions - they're surprisingly versatile and Sweetums in particular just puts a smile on my face whenever he shows up.
It's amazing to consider that Lew Zealand, the one-joke boomerang-fish-thrower, has had one truly great deconstructing-the-Muppets line in each of the last two films, not to mention solo lines in two MMW songs.
Intrigued by the "Sweetums needs his own movie" comment. Maybe he does. I've previously posted on this forum that I think the next Muppet movie, whether it's a direct-to-video or theatrical release, should only concentrate on one or two characters as opposed to trying to cram as many Muppets as possible into the mix. Maybe a few other characters could play supporting roles but I'd like to give one or two of these guys a chance to take centre stage and have a movie with different pacing and writing, especially characters that don't often show up for longer than 10-15 seconds.
As I've said before, Pepe or Rowlf would be my top choices for a film like this (I practically have Pepe's backstory written in my head) but maybe Sweetums has the depth to pull this off too, particularly with the enthusiasm Vogel is giving him these days.
