That's an interesting development...
Any joke, no matter how vulgar, offensive, or inane in any context can be funny if cleverly done. Or done in a way that's so incredibly stupid, it's clever. I.e. the Ren and Stimpy episode where Stimpy farted and spent the entire episode looking for it, like it was his son... or my favorite Japanese superhero, Kinnikuman who flies by farting. Not so much bad, poorly placed fart jokes in kid's movies. You have to actually do something with it for me tio think it's funny. It has to have a purpose.

I'm going to get booed or egged or tared-and-feathered, but I've never seen A Christmas Story.
I've seen parts of it, and I know what happens (him wanting a BB gun, tongue stuck to flagpole, leg lamp, the Chinese restaurant thing...) but mostly I think it's entirely bizarre. Maybe it would make more sense it I sat through all of it, (TBS shows it for 24 hours straight for cripes sake, it must be popular/tolerable) but it's definitely not one of my favorites.
