Favorite Henson Christmas movies

After seeing It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas, how would you rank the Henson Christmas movies and specials?

Mine might go something like this:

1. Muppet Christmas Carol
2. Emmet Otter
3. Muppet Family Chrismtas
4. Very Merry Muppet Christmas
5. Christmas Toy

1. John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together
(fond memories, great songs)

2. It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie
(different, exloring the Muppetverse in 3 dimentions)

3. Muppet Christmas Carol
(dark and different, a good post-Jim effort that gave us hope)

4. Muppet Family Chrismtas
(a jolly sing-song time with cross-over cast members)

5. Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas
(remarkable for it's time and still downright charming today, a very special movie)

6. The Christmas Toy
(Interesting, but made me want to see the Muppet cast)

Don't forget Christmas Eve on Sesamee Street

Christmas Eve on Sesamee Street would be my favorite, followed by Emmett Otter and Muppet Family Christmas.


Does anyone know why the Fozzie and the Snowman singing "Sleigh Ride" was cut out of the Muppet Family Christmas video and DVD?? I refuse to buy them because that is missing. I taped it off TV when it first aired, and I still watch that old tape because it's uncut (unlike the DVD). They also cut when the Muppet Babies sing "Santa Claus is Coming to town." Does anyone know why??



Also, how come no one ever airs the John Denver/Muppets Christmas Special anymore? It's not on video or DVD and no one re-airs it ever. WHY? I remember that being pretty good. I'd love to see it again!!

I have to put "A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie" at the top of the list. I really enjoyed that last night. I thought it was much better than "Muppet Christmas Carol."

...I've never REALLY gotten into either Emmet Otter or The Christmas Toy...because yeah, they don't really have the characters I care about. Although I do prefer Emmet Otter...

And if I ever had the distinct honor of seeing the John Denver special, that would be up in the top three, I'm sure--seeing as how the album is so friggin good.

My top two are Muppet Family Christmas and A very Merry whatever. The new one.

I liked MCC but it wasn't as Muppety as the other stuff, and even Kermit had a secondary role! Though I think his appearence in MTI was pretty small too. Fozzie showed up only as Fezzywig, and Janice was hidden by that beastly bonnet that took up her entire face.

Never saw the others.

I do love the Sesame Street ones, especialy The New years eve special and the original Christmas eve on Sesame.
