All I know is that, I think, Andy Kaufman was actually on that particular special.

The characters as I remember were Miss Piggy (of course), Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Rizzo, Janice, Sam, I think Zoot. There were others in the control room scene, but I don't remember them all.

Yeah Andy Kaufman was in it, playing his alter ego Tony Clifton.

Yeah, I saw it at The Museum of TV and Radio again with a group recently. Everyone loved it, but were pleasantly amused at how dated the special is, with songs like "I Will Survive." People were shocked when they realized who "Tony Clifton" was. lol

My favorite part is when Piggy freaks out at the end because she finds out this was a special, not a TV series for her.

Janice: "Kermit, we have 8 seconds to go, what are we gonna do?!"

Fozzie: "There's no reasoning with her when she gets like that!"

Gonzo: "There's no reasoning with her even when she doesn't get like that!"

Fozzie: "What are we gonna do, Kermit?!"

Kermit: "...PANIC!!!"
