Fanfic Help: Casting a Muppets' Galaxy Quest

I want to do my own version of the movie galaxy quest with Muppet characters and I'm having trouble picking who the cast as the crew of the protector.

All I have so far is ...

Gonzo as Commander Peter Quincy Taggart

Sam the Eagle as Dr. Lazarus

Dr. Bunsen Honeydew as Tech Sgt. Chin

Rizzo the Rat as Guy Fleegman

Any ideas on who else...

My only problems is keeping the characters true to how they were created. I know that there was some cursing and violence and I've never seen any muppets get into a fist fight or anything of that nature. I was going to cast Kermit as Taggart but my only problem with that is Taggart at first is an egomaniac and in no way do I see Kermit as an egomaniac. So I picked gonzo because I could see him playing the egomaniac part well. Of course some of you may not have seen the movie at all. So here's where I'm having trouble who to cast as Lt. Tawny Madison (Sigourney Weaver's Character) I was thinking Miss Piggy but then again would Gonzo end up with Miss Piggy. I was thinking Scooter as Laredo but I'm not sure. I want to make sure that I stay true to the characters and the original movie as well. Who to have as Mathazar and the rest of the Thermians? or better yet Sairus. Please somebody help me.

I'm not a big fan of pigs in space but Link Hogthrob does seem like he would fit Taggort pretty well but I like Gonzo as the captain better.

When I saw this post heading, here is who I had in mind for the cast:

Kermit at Taggart: I know you couldn't see him as an egomaniac, but kermit definitely has those times where he is overconfident
Piggy as Lieutenant Madison
Robin or Scooter as Laredo
Gonzo as Tech Sgt Chen- Tony Shaloub in this role defintely reminded me of gonzo, instead of the aliens turning into slimy things when their disguises go haywire, they can turn into chickens, also helping gonzo fit into this role
Sam the Eagle as the "Grabthar's Hammer" character, i can't think of his name at the moment
Dr. Bunson honeydew as the nerdy high school kid who helps save the day
Fozzie as Crewman #6
Scooter or Swedish Chef as the Alien crew commander

That all i can think of at the moment, but that's my opinion. Have fun with this fanfic, no matter who the cast it will be a great one to read!

I decided to have Wander Mc Mooch as Lathe

and Tim Curry as Sarris just because he rocks as a villain in anything he does. He was an awesome Long John Silver.
