I am building a walk-around stage using the One Way Street book (which is very lacking) and have come to a stand still.

I am having trouble finding a light/strong/opaque fabric that is either silver or gray. The stage will look like a rocketship when complete, hence the need for silver or gray material.

Anyone have any idea where I may purchase such a fabric?

Thanks,
t3rry :grouchy:

opaque silver or gray fabric

I'm don't know of any particular fabric that fits what you're looking for but I do have some ideas. Perhaps you could take Silver Lame' and put stabilizer on it to improve the opacity and strength. The only other idea I have would be to get a general purpose fabric and spray paint it to the color you want.

Hope this helps,

Jason

Polyester might be another good bet. I have purchased several yards in the past and it is very strong and obaque if you get a dark color.

See if you can find a store that caters to folks who do upholstery. They should have a vinyl or leather type fabric that would work well. If you can't find a silver or grey (although I bet they would have one) you could then paint with spray paint. These fabrics tend to be pretty stiff and durable.
