That green kid certainly sounded like a toughy. A football player, wanting to squirt his sister with a hose, wanting a mean dragon, and becoming disgusted with his sensitive sounding brother.

You know, those Muppets reminds me of some Simpsons characters.

The tough green kid was like Bart.
The sweet girl was like Lisa.
The sensitive purple kid was like Milhouse.
And Cookie was like Homer charging up to the kids to get some ice cream.

By the way, the version on the CD is a remade version featuring Richard Hunt, Jerry Nelson, and Fran Brill, and rewritten to be more "politically correct". ( ) The album may also reveal two of the character's names: Buster(tough guy) and Ruby (little girl).

At the end of it, the Muppets ask Farley if he likes ice cream. His response?

"No, I hate ice cream! It makes my teeth cold."

It's amazing what people consider offensive today. I guess The Wizard Of Oz should get a PG-13 rating today, since the Lion is referred to as a "sissy" a few times.

I wonder what would've happened if those 3 kids became regulars on the show? I can just imagine the tough green kid causing all sorts of trouble while his two siblings try to talk him out of it or bail him out.

They would have probably been good as regulars. I guess they figured that they already had all the personalities covered through other characters. But, it would have been interesting.

I always liked this skit with those three anything muppets.

Yeah I always liked it a lot too. Yet another great SS song that sticks with you after you hear it. I especially liked that tough green muppet and his loud emphasis ( "I'd like to play FOOTBALL".. and "I'd like to be a FIREMAN"..). He was voiced by Jim Henson, eh? Boy I tell ya, I really marvel at how versatile Henson, Oz, and Nelson were with their voices. Simply incredible talents.
