Does anybody have the lyrics for this song (or dialogue)? Does anybody know where the English version can be found? I haven't seen the English version in a long time, but thanks to Plaza Sesamo, I relived it.

The setting of the song is of Ernie sitting under an apple tree while various creatures appeared in it: a squirrel, a yellow bird, a beehive, a cat, and  Gladys the Cow!!! It was made in the mid-80s and written by Joe Raposo and Luis Santiero (I think).

I believe Tom Dunsmuir wrote the lyrics, not Luis Santeiro. Anyway, this was a very rare segment. It was only used once or twice a season during the mid 80s, and then it was used in one show from the 1991-92 season.

Thanks,

You're right, it was Tom Dunsmuir. By the way, if you don't mind me asking, how do you know so much SS info, like how often a sketch is shown and what year? Is it a really good memory? 'Cause I need a good memory. How much is yours??

If you don't mind my asking, can you tell me how? Is there an address or a phone number or something like that?

There's this woman at the Sesame Street music department who I talk to regularly on the phone. She has a list of all the segments, who wrote them, and all the seasons and episodes they have appeared in. It's actually on the Internet, but unfortunately, you can only access the site if you work for the company. If you called and asked about that song, or anything, I don't think she would answer. The only reason why she answers those questions for me is because they know that I would not do anything bad with the information (like this). I have been talking to her at least once a week for the past few years. She's very nice. But she doesn't know you, and I don't know if she would look it up for you, because she doesn't know if you would do anything harmful with it.

Such a list should be made available for all to see.

I actually agree with that, and I wish it was. I think it's only because the system also has some confidential information, like people's salaries, and stuff like that. Maybe they can make it available to the public, once they keep that confidential stuff private.

Sure, it would take very little effort to screen the inappropriate info. All we need to see is YEAR, COMPOSER and SONG.

Heck, send it to me and I'll write up a ColdFusion script for it and publish the database for everyone to use as a searchable reference. For free. I'm sure there are plenty of composers who've written for Sesame over the years who would like to have an accessible index for their work.

Thanks, ssetta. I'm glad to hear that someone is able to keep in touch with SW (aside from other members on the MC Message forums). I guess that explains how you keep in touch with Chris Cerf. And believe me, I wouldn't blab anything except info, such as the info of Ernie's song, that other Muppet fans would like to know. I definitely wouldn't blab anything personal. I'm a friend. And I also like scarecroe's idea. I've been keeping a list of SS songs (yes, another list from me) for several years now that includes titles, (a few) years, and singers.

Also, does anybody out there have the Ernie clip I mentioned?
