This skit made me a little nervous when I was little. It was not out of character for Ernie to let his imagination run away with him, but it was unusual for him to bawl ol' Herb out like that, especially when Herb was totally innocent. And the ending always spooked me to see the look on Herb's face and that loud synthesized "TOOOOOIIIINNNNGGGG!" at the end.
But I like the idea of a sequel where Ernie apologizes, and remembers why he was there in the first place.
If his conscience was till bothering him whether or not to knock on Herb's door, Ernie could still go to his local supermarket and rent a vaccuum for the day.
