I hadn't thought much about that. But I know how :frown: feels since I've had roommates that kept me up late at night. I have a single room now and even that doesn't seem to help. Lol.
Yeah, I have to admit that back in college I was most likely the "Ernie" to my roommates' "Bert"s. They stuck with me for the last three years of college, though, and we're still good friends, so it just shows that :stick_out_tongue: and :frown: will always make sense as a pair.

I guess one instance where Ernie did "mean well" is when he decided to withhold asking Bert a very important question while he was reading his was reading his newspaper. He tried, anyway, but he ended up singing aloud and holding a loud conversation with Rubber Duckie, which disturbed Bert anyway. And what was the question? "Bert.... can I borrow your newspaper?" A classic and very funny sketch.
