This is kinda strange or perhaps random, but does anyone have any favorite English Poets? I personally love John Donne and Edmund Spenser.

It's been awhile since I've read much poetry, but I like Lewis Caroll and TS Eliott and also the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. I really should read more though. It would help with my own writing.

Oh, and I also love the poetry my Mum writes

I'm not sure about the Ancient Mariner, but I've read stuff by Elliot and Caroll; both are good. I seem to recall reading "the love song of J Alfred Prufrock" by Elliot; I like the whole "stream of consciousness" technique that he uses.

Longfellow wrote some wonderful pieces.

Incidentally, you do mean "English" poets as in "from England" as opposed to English-speaking poets, or do you?

By English I meant poets from England. Sorry if that was unclear.
Although, I do have to agree on Longfellow, his work is brilliant and timeless. "The Skeleton in Armor" is one of my favorite poems. Sometime, when I am married and I have a room with a large bookshelf, I hope to have a copy of Longfellow's complete works on that shelf.
Another artist who lived a rather tragic life...both his first and second wife died and he was left with kids to raise. His first died in childbirth, his second in a fire, I think.
