Just figured I'd start a new thread for the all new SSL show, which actually isn't new at all :-P

It's a remount of the Super Grover: Ready For Action! which premiered in 05

It's title changed to simply Ready For Action in late 2007 and it became Elmo : Ready For Action! in early 2008.

It was an awesome, colorful and HILARIOUS edition to the Sesame Street Live repertoire and I'm sure the 2010 update is gonna be just as excellent! :super:

Here's the show synopsis:

Wow...they're good. :stick_out_tongue: I'm officially convinced Elmo runs the street now, lol. (EDIT: though I know eventually I will once again go on a rant about how much this guy is overexposed, hehe)

Nice art work there too. I know Super Grover is somewhere p.i.s.s.e.d, haha.

I cannot wait to see what the show will look like (though I already have an idea) since they're ditching the maxi stage (WHY?) AND only doing 13 characters. That's what...10 speaking characters at least. There's going to be a lot of switching costumes backstage, LOL (save for Elmo of course:rolleyes:).

10 speaking characters and 3 understudy characters is how every show is done on the theater tour circuit. The change is that instead of having 2 arena tours with 13 speaking characters and 1 theater tour, they're gonna have 3 theater tours. *BUDGET CUTS* It won't last forever, don't worry  And Elmo doesn't run the street... he just sells tickets.

The show will look a lot like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvMo4t2NbkU

And not like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KX1bf7CXRlc&feature=related

I'm honestly more annoyed by the forced usage of the word "Healthy" than the obvious Elmofication to sell tickets. Seriously, I think kids already inherently know not to shove Doritos down their throats until they blort up by now. They just don't seem to care after 10 years old.

Wow, and I thought that 123 Imgaine with Elmo and Friends was a copy.

I mean here's my question...with Abby now involved with the show, do you think that some of changes of future show programs are going to be made to fit Abby into a role for the show ?

I ask this because remember the "When Elmo Grows up" Show was change to fit Abby.

All the shows will accommodate Abby now. Just like 123 Imagine replaced Zoe with Abby for this current remount. But VEE makes several changes every time they remount a SSL show, whether it's changing characters, songs, and scenes altogether. The last time they did When "I" Grow Up, there was no Zoe, Baby Bear or Abby Cadabby. Also, Telly originally wanted to be a baseball player, Cookie wanted to own a drive in diner that served Cookies, Shakes, Burgers and Fries and Elmo wanted to be a Cowboy (and everything else) As you can see, A LOT changed when they brought out When "Elmo" Grows Up... not just the Abby updates

Well, the tour officially kicked off this past Thursday. :super:

On a somewhat random note, but in relation to this show:

I found this vid on youtube of the original SG show touring internationally, and just had to point something out.

Anyone notice that while they're singing "Old MacDonald", that the set is still the SS one? Weren't they on a farm during this scene?

this only happened in madrid. everywhere else they used the full "theater" set...

sometimes on the international circuit, the venues are so small that they literally have to reduce the size of the stage... thus causing them to re-stage numbers, and cut scenery, props and even characters sometimes...

If you look at this video, you can see what the full stage actually looked like...
