Just two, though the original went through several, several alterations and modifications before looking the way it does now. Unfortunately, the original is also really falling apart because it's so old.

If I could find the right kind of fur, I'd build a whole new one again, because the current puppet is so stiff and heavy since I had to substitute the fur for a different kind.

I'm pretty sure it was Mongolian faux fur, but I wouldn't swear to it, as it came from a cheap throw pillow I bought at dollar store for like $15. The current puppet, however, has Luxury Shag, which I ordered by-the-yard from fabric.com.
