I've had my license for almost 16 years. Never had an accident or tickets, I guess I'm just a good driver. I was like most of you when I took my driver's test, a nervous wreck; but I got through it. Now we have graduated drivers licenses, so a person can't get their full license until they're 17 (16 and nine months if they take driver's ed), but they can get their learner's permit when they're 16.

I just got my driver's permit recently, which everyone always responds to with, "But you're twenty, why not just go for your license?" I just thought it'd be a smart move though. I'm hoping to have my license by the end of summer.

Once I was in the car with my brother, and I told to stop texting and driving. So he told me to "take the wheel", which I thought was a joke, then I realized he had let go of the wheel to text and we swerving towards a sidewalk. I drove three blocks from the passengers seat. Worst driving experience ever.

The laws where I am (Georgia) changed in 2004 or there about, where new drivers wishing to get their permit (If you're under 18) must take a driver's ed class (I think there's about 2-3 around town/the region) and complete 40 hours of driving, 6 of which must be at night.

I understand the importance of safety, and I've heard stricter rules, but I should have waited until recently to get my permit. Not as much red tape to go through, if you get me.
