Honestly, I can get on the case of fan ANYTHING (fics/arts) when they ad things that don't need to be added, exploit relationships that are barely hinted at that feature characters that were barely in one episode. I'm not talking Muppet stuff... I mean in general. The few Muppet fan fics I've read I've felt were quality. But there are just SOOOOO many lame fics out there that are just about which character from Rescue Rangers loves Gadget more... and stuff I can't even mention.

One rule of the fanfics is that the characters must remain in the integrity as we know them from the actual productions.

Is it acceptable for plot devices to have a character getting a bonk on the head and then suddenly act out of character or one of those scenarios? (And even in such a situation, the character should never be invoking anything obscene or offensive- i.e. stuff you would never see on The Muppet Show) That would be the only time I could see an exception being allowable. But seeing as how I don't have necessarily have any fanfics in mind at the moment and I wouldn't be planning to use that anyway- I guess it's kind of a moot point.
But I would definitely agree with that fanfic rule. That should be something fanfic writers of any fandom should hold to in general.

If fan fics had rules, they wouldn't have forced relationships. Especially when they're written by VERY lonely people. if this were a more PG site, I'd elaborate... but we ALL know what I mean.

Well, for example, Kermit got a bonk (more of a hit) in The Muppets Take Manhattan and he got amnesia. He acted differently BUT still had a bit of Kermit in his behavior.

There should absolutely NOT be any adult themes in any fan fics at MC. Honestly, I've written one a long time ago and wrote the plots for a few good role play games back when life let me have time to do that (at work); but, I really don't read any fan fics of any of my fandoms. So, it would be helpful if these kinds of things were reported if there are adult themes. This is supposed to be a family friendly forum after all.
