Many years back we acquired a 1959 Caddy limo that was rumored to be the one used for Doc Hopper in the original Muppet Movie. I wrote to Henson Studios, Public Relations but never rec'd a reply as to whether or not they could help in determining the truth to the rumor. Anybody have an idea as to a specific person/ address I might use to try again?

hmmm

Not quite sure who you could contact about the authenticty of your limo, However my family aquired a 1962 Caddy Limo 4-5 years ago and while watching TMM noticed how similar (actually near exact) our limo is to the Doc's.

Maybe someone here knows if the Caddy body style changed much from 1959-1962? That might change the year of your Caddy and put you in a whole new ballgame with whom you paid for it.

!

try another letter, and maybe a different dept...maybe that dept just doesn't like to answer questions... :stick_out_tongue: or there are some 'people' lurking here...maybe one will swing by!

Hope to know what you find out!

The 59 Body style is pretty distinct- it had the most exaggerated tail fins, which were slimmed down for the later models, I read on a website once, that the 59 limo was limited to a production of 800, only half had the privacy (divider window) glass. In the movie Doc Hopper got something to drink from a bar set up, this car had one, but I removed it in order to bring it closer to original, as having the set-up would count against me in points during car shows. However, still have it stashed in the garage somewhere in case I could ever verify the Doc Hopper Connection. I'm going to try writing again- (and again, and ...) Thanks!
