Back to the original thread:
Windmill cookies have been around forever. There's still a little Amish bakery in Lancaster, PA that makes them from scratch. With almonds and molasses.
Sadly, I don't see a nut-free version anywhere. Guess you'll have to settle for vanilla wafers.
