Nah, it's all a rumor. Nothing to worry about for now.

Kudos for bringing back Peter Cullen, but I disagree that he did his homework. There were too many out of character moments.

Not the characters. Not at all. There's a list somewhere either on Cracked or TVtropes or somewhere that mentioned all the little call backs and continuity nods and Mythology gags. I just can't find it at the moment. They had stuff like a War of the Worlds broadcast on a radio that was a shout out to Orson Welles's voice acting in the animated film among other things. Too bad all that care and detail towards Easter Eggs couldn't have gone to making the movies better themselves. But at least it's not "let's take a generic dog movie and slap the word Underdog on it" levels of carelessness.
