I've just heard it on Muppet Central Radio, and I'm wondering who did the lead vocals. At first I thought it was Richard Hunt, but then again it sounded a bit like Kevin Clash (but he didn't join the company until the 80s). So who is it?

The trio that sang 1977's "Disco 'D'" was most likely:

Richard Hunt, Christopher Cerf, and Jeffrey Moss.

I know this is going to sound kind of funky, but what are the words to Disco 'D? I've heard of Disco Frog & Disco Duck, but not Disco 'D. What muppet(s) sings it?What is the sketch about,if there is one?

For JFS: The song "Disco D" was sung on the show and there was an accompanying sketch. There was this DJ character who was at the radio station, introducing the song and the group. He then puts the record on the record player and the camera zooms in through the circular center of the record to the recording group.
The song was sung/recorded by a group of Muppets called Dee Dee O'Day and the Dewdrops. They were all standing in front of this bandstand marked with letter D's and sang the song. At the end, the camera zooms back out the way it came in, through the record's center.

BTW: MuppetDude, if you're reading this, I'd appreciate it if you could give me a descript of the DJ character from this sketch and a suitable name if none exists.
Thanks and have a good day.

That's actually a completely different song you're thinking of. That song was called "D-Duah Duah".
