Disappearing polls

There used to be a rule on MC years before you joined (and years before the forum was hosted on our current server) that only mods could start polls. Maybe they're reverting back to that rule?

When I made a thread tonight the poll option was still available, so IDK.

Yes, members are able to create polls when creating threads. However, sometimes, a thread title is either misspelled or wrongly worded. So it's up to a staff member to correct the title of the thread containing said poll. And to be able to do that, all posts from the thread with the poll have to be selected for thread movement, as that's the only way a thread title can be corrected. And moving a thread has the unfortunate side-effect of immediately deleting the poll associated with said thread. So it's not that polls are being intentionally eliminated, it's just what happens when a poll thread gets moved.
