My guess? By redisigning Elmer Fudd into having a larger head, smaller body, it was much eisier to animate. Not to mention the fact all that fat musta made it hard for animators to get him to move.

Hey I remember the fat one now! ^^ I agree with Dr Tooth, he was probably easier to animate. Plus in the new style, the one thats well known, he looks more like the other characters.

If you notice, the Fat Elmer was made by Tex Avery & Bob Clampett (I believe thats all the people who did Fat Elmer) I believe it was more director's choice.
